Katie and Mike’s wedding was our last wedding for 2016 and it was a perfect way to end the year! Katie and I went to High School together at Olentangy and were in band together. We were both in the percussion section of band. Yes! I played the drums and loved it! I usually stayed on the bells and xylophone since reading sheet music and notes is second nature to me from my piano playing days.
I always love being able to photograph Olentangy Alumni! We usually have 1-2 couples a year that have graduated from Olentangy. When Katie emailed and told me she was engaged and wanted me to shoot her wedding I was so excited for them! I loved meeting Mike and seeing their dynamic. They are absolutely adorable together and make each other laugh so much. Mike brings out a side in Katie that I was never able to see during our band days, and I love it!
Their wedding was at Station 67, which was perfect for them since they are both Firefighters. Their wedding program included the history of the station. It was an awesome booklet for their guests to read and learn more about the architecture and station. We have been to station 67 a couple times and it was great to be able to come back to this Columbus wedding venue for Katie and Mike’s wedding.
The amount of love from their family and friends on their wedding day was crazy! Everyone was beyond excited to be there for their wedding, to celebrate their love and have a great time. The ceremony was adorable. They poured glass pieces that were later fused together to make a vase! How cool is that?
After their ceremony, we ran outside before the sun totally set to grab the full wedding party pictures and then pictures of just the two of them. Ahh, I love sunset pictures! The lighting is always so dreamy, and in late October, we still had a couple trees with leaves on them!
We are so honored to be able to photograph weddings, and Katie and Mike’s wedding was an awesome way to end the wedding season!
