Good Vibes

Good things that happened this past week!

This past week had some fun times!  Wyatt has decided that his second nap should be super short which means that he gets a little cranky in the afternoons.  He would normally take his nap around 2 or 3pm and sleep for a good 2 hours.  Now he is pushing his nap to 4pm and maybe sleeping an hour.  He hasn’t dropped his second nap, but I feel like he is trying to and he is not ready for that.  I use his nap times to really get a good chunk of work done during the day, so him not taking that afternoon nap really turns my schedule around.   Coffee. A lot of Coffee has been needed.  I have figured out that I need to wake up around 5pm or earlier in order to get some work done before he wakes up.  That leads me to this weeks Good Vibes:

  1. Iced Coconut milk Mocha Macchiato – This is such an amazing drink.  I was thrilled when they introduced it last summer and I have been ordering it all winter… but now it is officially back on the menu at Starbucks.  HEAVEN!  Have you tried it? If not, run to a Starbucks now and drink one.
  2.  Ikea Furniture –  I found this little file cabinet named Alex and it is amazing.  My office desk has been accumulating items and I was determined in February to get my desk clean and organized before this wedding season started.   I went to Ikea with my mom and I found the Alex.  I fell in love with the cabinet.  I brought it home and Scott had a blast putting it together.  I ended up buying another one a couple weeks later, so I now know 2 Alex’s. I LOVE THEM!  They keep everything organized and off my desk.
  3. Mason Jars –  I decided that I wanted to try coffee with Coconut Oil in it.  I had read about it before and wanted to see if it actually gave you any extra energy.  So, I made my coffee and put my hot coffee and coconut oil into the blender and turned it on.  Within a couple seconds coffee was flying out of the top of the blender. I had the plastic cap that sits in the center of the lid on the blender… but coffee was coming right out of it. So, I put my hand on the cap to try and push the lid down more to keep the coffee in.. Plop.. the plastic cap went right into the blender and the blender did what it does best – BLEND the plastic lid into my coffee.   I actually tried to strain the coffee to get the plastic out. I gave up and still had coffee left in the pot. I grabbed a Mason Jar, added my coffee and more coconut oil and gave it a good shake.  Mason Jar  = Blender.  Worked wonders!  I did go out later that day and buy a new blender, but if you are ever in a pinch and you have a mason jar it works great for mixing liquids!
