The Engagement Party
Oh yes. We had one. It was awesome… and I really didn’t take a lot of pictures!
So, we had our engagement party over the weekend. It was a awesomely summery, hot, humid June 1st day. Yay! I was actually pretty excited it was sunny because earlier in the week I had been checking out the weather for not on Saturday’s wedding, but Sunday’s party. It had storms on Sunday and that would have just been sad. So, yay for sunny hot weather! It was a very busy weekend and I can not wait to share with you pictures from Danielle and Courtney’s wedding. You might remember their engagement pictures over here. Their wedding was absolutely gorgeous! Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Turnow! I will be sharing with you a couple teasers from their wedding later on this week, as well as catching up with all the blogging. I really can’t believe it is June – Where did May go? I am still confused on how that month went by so quickly!
Back to the engagement party –
I took a bunch of pictures of all the details and all the super cute things that my parents and my sister put together for our engagement party. When the party started I actually put my camera down! I know!! Scary!! So, I don’t have any pictures of Scott and I together. My mom and one of Scott’s uncle’s took some pictures during the party so I will get some copies of those and put them up here – For now you can just enjoy all the details that my family came up with for our beach themed engagement party.
Yes, we do have a date… May 5th, 2015. 5.5.15. We are having a beach destination wedding – you might get that subtle hint after viewing the pictures that the wedding will be on the beach. We had actually been looking at a couple other dates and were pretty set with one… but we could only get the house for the week of the 5th – so guess what! That became our wedding week lol. It was a little nuts there for a couple weeks while we were trying to figure out which week and which house would be available.
We gave little suitcases to our guests that came to the party and had the date on it. We kept the party to a small, intimate crowd of just immediate family, local aunts and uncles and a couple friends. The suitcases were actually not our save the dates lol. I know that is pretty common, but we figure a year out is way to far in advance to do Save the Dates – so I will be designing some Save the Dates that will be mailed out in the fall time.
For the wedding planning update – we pretty much have figured out the location, date, photographer and guest list. We have kind of a relaxed summer of just doing some research and figuring out some minor things for the wedding – then more major planning will be happening in the fall. I will be filling you in over the next couple of weeks of all the stuff we have figured out so far 🙂
For now, enjoy the detail pictures from the party!
I enjoyed the crabby dudes that sat on top of the lemonade and iced tea. They are actually part of a decoration that is in my parent’s basement, but I snatched them and brought them upstairs.
Bentley turned 4 on May 28th – I need to post about that – but here he is with his toy that he got from his birthday. We then have Scott playing with one of my nephews leap pads. He was playing the Star Wars game, which I guess was actually challenging. He also has acquired a tennis ball from Bentley.
The Lewis Punch – a.ka. Rum Punch – a.k.a a name that is totally not G rated. It is delicious punch though that is a family recipe from my Great Uncle.
See here is the quick picture of where the crabbies lived for the day.
Below is the Cake that my seeester made. She makes cakes and decided to make a super cute Sand Castle cake! Yay! It was marble cake and delicious.
Below are some details of the table decorations that my sister and my mom came up with via Pinterest.
And… the suitcases!! We love them. My nephews loved them. Everyone love them ( we think ). I made some labels for them and my mom got some stickers and I stickers them. I heart ocean themed stickers. We filled them with yummy chocolate candies for everyone to take home.
Alright, that is it for the details parts of the party! When I get some pictures of Scott and I – I will post them up here 🙂
