Kaity and Jason were married in September in Zanesville, Ohio at the EagleSticks Golf Club. I had been looking forward to their wedding for a crazy long time! We did their engagement session in Wilmington Ohio earlier in the year. You can check out the gorgeous pictures from their engagement session here.
I arrived at Eaglesticks early in the day to photograph all of the getting ready with the girls. Kaity and her siblings were running around the reception area setting up the last minute details for the tables and the wedding. Kaity thought of everything when it came to the details for her day with Jason. Jason and Kaity share a love of boating and wanted to incorporate that love into the details of their wedding day to make it more personalized. Jason had a boat for his grooms cake. All of the tables had boats on it with certain maritime nautical flags on them. The guests found their seats based on what flat they were under that corresponded with the table. At all the tables were glass bottles, paper and pens to write special love letters to Kaity and Jason. I loved the message in a bottle! Their cake had hints of nautical themes on it with shells and white icing. I will let you look at the pictures before I keep on describing everything that Kaity and Jason did! I could go on for paragraphs about everything!!
Kaity looked gorgeous in her wedding gown and all of her bridesmaids were gorgeous as well. She got matching shoes for all of them and the flower girls had matching red glitter toms! LOVE! The day was warm and windy! Jason had a couple moments of Kaity’s veil coming after him during the ceremony which made it even more fun!
One of the more unique things that they did at their wedding that I had not seen at any others was the lanterns. Towards the end of the evening all of the guests picked up one of the chinese lanterns. Luckily the wind had died down by this time of night otherwise everyone might not have been able to do the lanterns! Everyone lit the lanterns around the same time and watched as they flew away. It was gorgeous! A warning about the lanterns – They do involve fire – if you plan on using them make sure you clear it with the venue and anyone else that needs to know before releasing these. It is best to do them in open spaces clear of trees and buildings. Also, be careful with small children and make sure you are aware of any lanterns that are around you that may be lifting off near you. The lanterns are awesome if the right precautions are taken to make everyone and everything safe!!
I hope you enjoy looking at their wedding as much as I enjoyed photographing their special day!
