Dawes Arboretum really is one of my favorite parks to go to. I have often chatted on the blog about my love for Dawes. The park is beautiful in any season and provides so many fun features like the Japanese Garden, bridges galore, prairie fields, tall grasses, woods, trails, crabapple trees, magnolias trees… I can go on for forever!
Seriously, it is one of my favorite spots, and the fact that it isn’t located in Columbus means that a lot of people do not go to it. I have couples all the time look at pictures from Dawes and:
I have talked before about the importance of finding an awesome location for your engagement session. Dawes is a great location if there isn’t a place that comes to mind when you begin planning your engagement photos. It has so many diverse areas to work with that anybody who likes nature and wants the great outdoors in their pictures cannot help but be pleased with Dawes. If you want a cityscape, this isn’t the best pick, but I know of lots of other great city locations!
Justine and Jeremy wanted to do their engagement session at Dawes and I was so excited to meet up with them! Scott and I actually went to Dawes earlier in the week for a picnic with Wyatt because it had been several months since I had been there and in the spring it is so hard to judge where the flower trees are blooming. The magnolias and crabapple trees had already bloomed since we had such a warm spring… but the dogwood trees were blossoming!
I told Justine about the gorgeous white dogwood trees and she planned on having a white dress – so it was perfect! She wore dresses for both of her outfits and ahhh, they were gorgeous. It was an insanely windy day… as in 20 m.p.h. wind, at least. Her second dress was a flowing wrap dress and it had great movement with the wind and provided them with romantic pictures right at sunset. I am so in love with their session. We had great light, the wind worked in our favor, and of course Justine and Jeremy could not have been any sweeter.
I literally cannot wait until their June wedding next month because I’m looking forward to hanging out with them again! I know Scott is going to love them, as well! He doesn’t get to go on the engagement sessions, so I always love coming home and telling him all about how amazing the session was….and I could not stop gushing about how awesome Justine and Jeremy are!
Can’t wait to see you two next month!
