Happy Labor Day!
I hope everyone has had a great Labor Day weekend! It has been a busy one here over! While I am busy editing this week and working on teasers, I figured I would post some photos I had planned to post a couple weekends ago while Hurricane Irene was going by. I had Ross and Amy’s wedding that day and I ended up not getting a chance to post them. Their wedding was on August 27th and was just a complete blast! Look for their teaser, as well as Julia and Ryan’s, Bridgett and Chris’s and Tracey and Adam’s teaser this week on the blog. For now I will just stick with gorgeous outer banks pictures from when I was there in 2010 and 2009. Most of these images were taken along The National Seashore, Cape Hatteras, and Ocracoke. I can’t wait till I get the chance to go back down there!
Side note – It’s like Antarctica outside! I took Bentley out around 7am this morning and it was cold.. but not to bad. I just took him out again before I started this blog post around 10am and it feels colder! ahh. Glad I brought Jeans up to my parental units for the weekend!

Ocracoke Island, NC
Ocracoke Island for the first image and Jockey Ridge. Two of my favorite places!
Jockey Ridge
Ocracoke Island, NC
Surfshop in Ocracoke Island, NC. This is one of my favorite images. I ended up making a canvas out of this print and it is happily hanging in my bedroom.
Jockey Ridge Park in Black and White! Yay! This is actually hanging in my office upstairs. I am not huge on hanging my own photographs in my house, but a couple of these I just love and couldn’t wait to get prints of or canvases to hang up in the house!
National Seashore down to Hatteras and Ocracoke Island.
Queen Elizabethan Gardens in Manteo, NC
Jockey Ridge in the first image and hopefully everyone can recognize the second image. It is the Wright Brothers National Memorial in Kitty Hawk, NC.
Gorgeous pictures of sunset over the sounds coming back form Ocracoke.
The first image my friend and I were driving back to the hotel so that he could catch the OSU game. We were just driving along and I just said that we had to stop because of how gorgeous the sunset was.. ” I am going to miss the start of the game!” he announced. I hopped out of the car when I finally convinced him to stop and took that first picture. He actually agreed that the sunset was pretty when he was looking at it instead of just driving with the intent to see the kick off. We got back a little bit after kick off, but that picture was well work being late!
Elizabethan Gardens in Manteo, NC. I highly suggest you go see these gardens if you can. There is an admissions fee to go into the gardens, but it is gorgeous as you can tell. They do have weddings there on the weekends it looked like! They were setting up for a wedding the Saturday that I was there. I am guessing that they close off the main garden area during this time for the weddings – so make sure you go during the weekdays if you want access to everything and no chance of a wedding!
Sunrise over Nags head
I hope everyone has enjoyed this little peak into the Outer Banks!
