This year was so much fun at North Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. We love going on this vacation, and with Wyatt being over 2 years old he really understood the ocean and the sand! He LOVED digging in the sand with his shovels and running his trucks everywhere. We got him a new little set of construction sand trucks and boats just for vacation. I am pretty sure he loved every minute of playing with this trucks. He was obsessed with the fact that every morning he got to see his cousins and had instant play buddies! Wyatt would get pretty upset if they left the beach and left without him. Wyatt loved them so much he even popped into a couple of their family photos! Maybe my sister really wanted 4 boys instead of 3?
North Myrtle Beach is one of our favorite vacations because we get to spend so much time on the beach relaxing and in the evenings we do fun activities. There is so much to do in North Myrtle if you have never been. We go a lot! I have been going longer then Scott has with our family, and it is so crazy to see how the landscape has changed with different tourist attractions, more highrises (sad face) and general changing of the people. It used to be such a quiet little beach with just little houses and small condos. Now it is a bustling little town with tons of fun things to do. I will say that I do miss the adorable little houses and small beach condos that used to line the beach – but I know several friends who have stayed at the high rise condos and LOVED them! There is a little bit for everyone here!
On vacation, Wyatt started to fold his arms and yell No. It was a new adventure with him doing that since he had never done it before! I got some adorable pictures of him doing it. He was just so darn cute when he folded his arms all angry haha. He had a couple meltdowns as well – mostly on the last night we were on the beach when we were flying kites. He enjoyed flying kites for maybe 20 minutes or so and then he was done. Meltdowns with flying shoes and all. So.. if you think he is always smiling and happy – he usually is, but he does have his little meltdowns from time to time, and I enjoy documenting them because he is so cute.
I will say this is the first year we had less than ideal weather! We usually get rained off the beach at least 1 afternoon while there for a week. This year we had 1 entire day of rain!! But, because of that Wyatt got to make his first Build-A-Bear at the same place that I made my first Build-A-Bear! How cute is that!! I made my first one a Broadway at the Beach and so did he! He made a Tiger and named it Car.
Wyatt also got to place his first round of Mini-Golf! As a family we LOVE mini-golf and he has always just been in the stroller for our golf outing. This was the first time he got a plastic club and went to town. He did pretty well on the first hole, but after that, he found he had way more fun picking up the balls and putting them in the hole or grabbing the balls out of the hole then actually hitting the ball. I will say that lighting at night on a minigolf course with no flash on my camera is a little special… not the best photos for lighting, but adorable memories!
Enjoy some pictures from our time on the beach!
Wyatt asleep on the couch totally sums up how we all felt at the end of the week! Exhausted!
