Merry Christmas Eve!

I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas – I hope everyone enjoys all the presents, food, and family tomorrow.  If you are traveling please stay safe!  I was on 70 yesterday coming to my parents house and it was full of crazy drivers.

Here are some pictures of the real snow fall that happened at my house last week.  I took some time to really play with some of the post processing for a bit.  All of my clients will see that in their proofing galleries there is always a folder called ” Artist Favorites”.  This folder houses the images that I feel need to have some extra done to them to really make them pop or convey another emotion.  The first two images I am posting here show the difference in how one image can feel when its in its normal color version verse another color.  These are all snow images ( I will do some with weddings later on), I personally love mixing with the colors of snow scenes just because it usually very contrasting and sometimes uneventful colors.  Don’t get me wrong though – I do love a good straight out of the camera, pure white snow scene – those can be absolutely beautiful… but for the other ones… I love to play with color and really push the image to get a different feel from it.

My hockey light figurine - love the color, but in black and white the smaller hockey figures really stand out.

This next picture is overlooking my fence into the neighbor’s field.  I love having a field right next door – I get the best of both worlds… woods and field!

Original on left - Color toned on right - I love doing brown tones on the white, makes it look older and more antique.

More fun with colors on snow scenes - the trail into the woods behind my house. The neighbor's yard and my fence yet again.

Here is some exciting news – I finally got my Pipers Photography sign up!! Yippie!! I have had my gorgeous cedar mailbox post with the numbers on it sitting in front of my house for, oh, close to 6 months now.  I had to wait a crazy long time to get the actual sign but I am very happy with it.  I got it from The Sign Man down at Myrtle Beach, SC.  I do love to give recommendations and he does residential and commercial signs – BUT – Be prepared to wait double the time that he quotes you for the expected arrival date.  He does great work – but I had to wait 2, almost 3 extra months just to get the sign.  So, If you are looking for a sign for your new home as a couple, or even a sign for your child – he does great work, but be prepared to wait awhile to get your finished product.  He only takes orders in person too – never over the phone.

To finish up the post here are a couple extra snow pictures.  Yes, the one is of my “I love Christmas” sign… and yes… sadly… my pumpkin is that big mound of snow right next to the “I love Christmas” sign.

I Love Christmas, and my poor, poor, pumpkin under all that snow!
