It was about this time last year when I met with Jade and Michael for their Westerville, Ohio engagement photography session. I was still very pregnant at the time and it was one of the last sessions I did before becoming a mom. We got so lucky on the day for their engagement session. It was warm and a little breezy, which is awesome weather for March in Ohio! I was just putting together an Engagement Session Look Book for my couples to look through at our meetings to help them get an idea of what engagement sessions through the seasons look like, and I couldn’t believe that technically, Jade and Michael’s engagement session fit into the Winter category. That Winter category is crazy, because it has everything from snow and ice engagement sessions to warm and sunny sessions. Ohio’s weather can get pretty crazy in the Spring!
We started our session off in Uptown, Westerville. I am pretty sure Jade and Michael thought I was a little crazy to start with because I had them in back alleys taking pictures, but they trusted me, and they are so happy they did! The trust our couples place in us is huge during the engagement session and on their wedding day. We were behind restaurants and shops taking pictures with Jade and Michael, but guess what, there was amazing light behind the buildings. The light on main street was really harsh, but it was bouncing off the buildings so perfectly in those alleys. I love when our couples just know to go with the ideas I have, and that when I say the light is dreamy, then it truly is dreamy! When we finished up at Uptown Westerville we headed over to Inniswoods Metro Gardens. Jade and Michael did a quick change of clothing and off we went to the bridges and decking in the woods. We caught the tail-end of sunset for a few pictures before the light was gone and it got cold!
Enjoy their engagement session at the links below! I will be sharing their wedding at All Occasions Barn in Waldo, Ohio very soon!
