Inniswoods. I always say that Inniswoods Metro Gardens is Dawes Arboretum on a smaller and more garden scale. Inniswoods is one of those parks that again, you can go to at any time during the year, like Dawes, and it is gorgeous. My favorite season to visit Inniswoods metro gardens is during the summer. Alex and Michelle’s engagement session was in the summer, and at the perfect time. All of the flowers were blooming and everything was super green! Love! The location matched their upbeat and joyful personalities so much. I really love it when the locations are meaningful and match with my couples personalities. It makes the pictures that much more perfect when everything comes together with the location.
We started the session out by all the tall sunflowers that were in perfect bloom. This is one of my favorite new features of the park. It is right across from the herb garden and the gorgeous ivy archway. We popped over to the ivy archway and took a couple of images there before moving more into the herb garden.
The herb garden is a great location inside the gardens because every single direction you look leads you to a beautiful area for pictures. The lighting is always pretty since it is diffused from the trees and bushes around the area.
Once we finished up in the herb garden Alex and Michelle did a quick clothing change and then we went into the tall wild flowers. This little area is also a newer feature the park added a couple of years ago. The tall wildflowers and grasses are so pretty and it makes you feel like you aren’t even in a metro park! Michelle’s adorable dress went perfectly with the flowers.
Alex and Michelle are getting married in September and I cannot wait for their wedding. It will be so much fun to get a fall look for their wedding pictures since the engagement pictures were taken in the summer!
