Hoover Reservoir Engagement Session with Dogs and Horses|Cindy + Kumar

Cindy and Kumar’s Hoover Reservoir engagement session was so much fun last summer!  It has been years since I have actually been to the Hoover reservoir.  I always enjoy going to new spots and old spots that I haven’t been to in a long time.  Hoover is just the perfect place!  It has so many little areas that are great to wander into and find awesome light.  Cindy and Kumar brought along their adorable pups for some pictures. I always love it when our couples include their pets in their engagement session and wedding.  It really brings a new element to the session.  When was the last time you got pictures taken with your pets?  We have photographed everything from cats, dogs, and rabbits during engagement sessions!  Cindy and Kumar always take the dogs for walks at Hoover Reservoir so naturally, it was the perfect spot for their engagement session.

 

It was a GORGEOUS sunny day with a bit of a breeze for Cindy and Kumar’s engagement session.  Hoover Reservoir in Westerville, Ohio usually has a bit of wind on the top of the dam.  In all honesty – during the summer, some wind feels AMAZING during a photoshoot.  Plus, instant windblown hair that looks GORGEOUS! I know some get a little scared when the summer weather is calling for wind.  But, I always take it as a blessing. I have long hair so I know what wind can do to a hairstyle, but, trust me when I say we work with the wind. There are poses, tricks we can do with your hands and body positioning to keep the hair out of your eyes and give you an effortless blow out effect.

 

The second part of their engagement session was SO MUCH FUN! Oh my goodness. We had gorgeous light and wind at Hoover – but then we headed out to where they have their horse that they rescued and it was amazing.  I LOVE it when our couples incorporate pets and having their horse is the engagement session made it even more special.  They did a quick outfit change and we were off to wander the fields with their beautiful horse at the equestrian barn.
