The 4th of July was a blast over here! Over the years the fireworks that we see on the 3rd and 4th always change. We used to go to Red, White and Boom, but it is crowded! So, we haven’t actually gone down to downtown in several years. We ( as in my parents, my sister, her husband and three children and my husband Scott ) have jumped around to different firework displays on the 3rd and on the 4th we go to the Lewis Center fireworks. Last year we went to Buckeye lake on the 3rd for their firework show and ate Pizza Cottage. It was awesome!! This year we didn’t go back to Buckeye Lake because of all the lake issues. Sad face. I honestly don’t even know if they shot fireworks off by the lake. We went to Reynoldsburg fireworks. They were pretty good.
On the 4th we did the usual Lewis Center Fireworks, only this year they changed the location that they were shooting them off from. They used to always shoot them off from Alum Creek State Park which was AMAZING because you could sit on the beach and watch the boat parade first and then the firework show. An even bigger plus is that since my parents live across from the beach, we would all just walk over! No issues trying to find a parking spot! Since they moved it for 2015 it was a little bit more challenging to find a perfect spot to view the fireworks. We knew they were shooting them off by Olentangy High School ( Go Braves! ) so we did the next best thing besides hanging out at the school – hanging out in the grass areas by Krogers! It looked like a lot of other people had the same idea as it quickly filled in with people for the fireworks. We thought they were going to shoot them off by the stadium, but they were about 90 degrees off from the stadium. I must say that I do hope they bring them back to Alum Creek Park next year. The beach was a lot more fun since we were on the beach and got to see the boats with all of their lights!
We did have fun in the Kroger parking lot – lots of Chex mix and twizzlers. The nephews did lots of sparklers and loved sitting on Scott. They view Scott as their human jungle gym and I don’t think he minds it at all! They are so in love with him that I didn’t even get to sit by him – they happily claimed the spots to the right and left of his chair for the firework show.
Enjoy some of the photos from the 4th of July!
The many faces of Ethan!
