Adrienne, David and I met on Google Hangout after they found me on The Knot and we chatted about their wedding plans and engagement. I instantly fell in love with them and their adorable puppy Domino.
Google hangout is so awkwardly funny to have meetings on. It is an awesome tool to use with couples that are not local to Ohio, but I still feel so awkward talking to my computer screen! I never know where to look, if I should be looking at the couple on my screen or the webcam! Luckily, David and Adrienne just laughed along with me during the whole meeting, so we were good! We planned their engagement session for Chicago and this past weekend Scott and I headed up there to photograph their session!
We all met up late Saturday afternoon at the place Adrienne and David first met! We took some pictures around the area and the building they met at and then we headed down a couple of fun side streets to get more industrial images before going to the park. Adrienne got this gorgeous, colorful dress from Rent the Runway and the colors matched their Save the Dates cards so I am super excited to see those!
After we were done in the West Loop area we headed to the Gold Coast for a quick change and then off to the shoreline for some Chicago skyline pictures. Domino joined us!! Ahh, Domino is adorable! Seriously, he had a little bow tie on and it was insanely cute. He is a Petite Golden Doodle and has such a fun personality. He is going to be the ring bearer in their wedding at Franklin Park Conservatory!
The five of us walked up to Lincoln Park for the remaining part of their engagement session. We found a fun pedestrian bridge to take a couple shots at across Lake Shore Drive and then we headed to the overhang that was built by architect Jeanne Gang. Adrienne filled me in on the history of Jeanne and that she was the first female to build a skyscraper in Chicago! One thing I love about Chicago is all of the amazing architecture and Interior Design. I have always loved great design and architecture even though I did not pursue my degree in design. So I love the fact that Adrienne and David are designers, they speak to my heart! I cannot wait to see them again for their wedding this August at Franklin Park Conservatory!
I am an Ohio based photographer who loves photographing weddings and engagements, traveling to beautiful sandy beaches, running after our adorable son Wyatt and border collie Bentley. A chips and salsa freak. Lover of coconut smelling lotions - candles - tea - desserts and... well anything that smells coconuty, and finally warm summer nights on our patio! Come hang out with me on Instagram and Facebook!
