How was your Christmas? Columbus Ohio Wedding Photography

Our Life

December 31, 2013

It is New Year’s Eve!!! This is probably one of my second favorite holidays running right behind Christmas.  New Year’s eve has a different vibe then Christmas.  For me it is always more of a quiet and romantic evening. I like it more then Valentine’s Day!   During the actual day of NYE not a whole lot goes on.   Usually I am doing some work ( blogging and editing ),  various years I have had a wedding today – Hi Shelby and Uriah! – if I don’t have a wedding then my work day pretty much ends around 4-5ish so that I can make a yummy meal, chill the champagne and watch New Year’s Rocking Eve.

I have a yummy meal planned for this evening – Chicken Parmesan, Mushrooms in a garlic white wine sauce ( kind of a take on burgundy mushrooms, but with white wine since that is what I have! ) , Salad, some yummy Riesling that will be used for drinking and for the mushrooms.  Dessert will be mint chocolate chip ice cream sundaes 🙂  I kept debating on doing some fancy dessert, but decided to keep it simple because simple is great. He will appreciate it since it is his favorite ice cream and I get to use my super cute sundae glasses that have been sitting in the cabinet collecting dust! What are your plans for New Year’s?

I wanted to share with all of you some pictures of Christmas over here.  I had Christmas with my family on Christmas day and then the day after Christmas we were here for our Christmas. Bentley got his Christmas at my parents house, so he enjoyed his toys a bunch up there!  Check it out!

Christmas011

This is what I call the sweet spot in the house!  You can see all three trees in the house and it is awesome!  We have in the far right corner the tree that was mine at my parents house for the basement – it has the multicolored lights on it.  The middle tree is “mine” since it is the first fake tree that I actually bought. It is white lights. Then we have a real tree together that is “ours” and that is a tree from Saum’s Farms in Amanda, Ohio.  It has white lights on it as well. I started out with just hand made ornaments, but since the tree was so big this year we added some more ornaments that weren’t handmade – I still love it!

Got to love the real tree and how pretty it is! I love the smell of pine and it has kept its smell for a pretty long time!

This is a very special ornament that I am so excited to share! Why is it important you ask? You will find out later!

I hope everyone had an awesome Christmas and have a safe and Happy New Year’s Eve!
