We are back for the rest of the gorgeous Buckeye Lake Wedding at the Buckeye Lake yacht club! I hope everyone enjoyed the gorgeous pictures from the first part of Jason and Sarah’s wedding. Seriously, Buckeye Lake is one of the best locations to get married at if you want a lake by you! The Yacht Club makes this happen by being right on the water! It made the formals look gorgeous by having the water as the background for most of the wedding formals. If you are looking for Part one of their Buckeye Lake Yacht Club Wedding Photography you can check it out here.
We did most of the formals on the decking where they got married and some larger family formals right in front of the main staircase. The wedding was an intimate and smaller wedding of maybe 50 guests if I had to guess a number. We were able to get a great group shot of everyone that came which was awesome! I love intimate weddings and smaller weddings. There is just something about being at a party of only 50 people and photographing it. I have the chance to really talk to people and get to know people.
You might be thinking…wait… you are there to photograph the people, not talk to them!! I have found over the years that the more chances you get to connect and talk with the guests at the reception the more relaxed they are in front of the camera. Relaxed people mean better candid photos – they keep doing what they were doing even if they see me with the camera because they already feel comfortable around me. I am not just a random stranger with a camera!
Anyway – back to the formals!
We did all of the formals outdoors, which I love! The lighting on their wedding day couldn’t have been more gorgeous. They had these gorgeous mixed clouds with little bits of sun that would come through every so often. It was amazing! We did some of the formals before the ceremony and you can check those out in the part one. We did the separate bridal party formals at the lake house that the girls were getting ready at and then we did the guys at the yacht club since they were getting ready there. We finished up the girls at the yacht club so that everything looked similar.
You might be asking why did we take multiple formal shots of the girls at 2 locations? I wanted to grab some formals of them with the weather and at the location of where they got ready to kind of commemorate that location since it was an important part of the day. Plus, since I had checked out the yacht club before I knew what was there and I knew that by having some different background at the lake house would be a nice mix. When it comes down to the album though, then I wanted to make sure that we snapped a couple formals of all the girls at the yacht club. This way I made sure that we had a good mix of backgrounds and ones that were similar. When they picked pictures for their album then they are able to decide what they want!
One of the great things that I loved about their wedding day was that we did the family formals outside – LOVE! I always love it when I have brides that want to do the family formals outside and this was great. I just added a couple in here to this post, since this post was mainly about Jason and Sarah and their wedding then I wanted to make sure I shared with you their gorgeous formals.
We also snuck out around sunset time for a couple pictures. The sun was hiding behind the clouds so we didn’t get a colorful sky, but the light was still amazing! This has been a nice treat that most of my couples have done with me if possible. Sunset pictures are gorgeous and just sneaking away from the reception for 10 minutes is all it takes to get some awesome shots! I seriously love Buckeye Lake Yacht Club Weddings – I don’t think you can possibly take a bad picture here with all the sky and water! On to the pictures!
