Autumn Outdoor Barn Wedding in Sugar Grove Ohio at The Barn at Heather Glen

Chelsea and Brian were married in Sugar Grove, Ohio during the beautiful fall season. I love fall weddings. Well, let’s be honest here, I love all weddings! Fall weddings have a special place in my heart, though, because autumn in Ohio is just gorgeous and it is even more gorgeous when you are surrounded by prairie fields, rolling hills, and forest.

 

This was the exact scene for Chelsea and Brian’s wedding It is always a special treat when we get to photograph at new venues, and The Barn at Heather Glen venue is one that I have wanted to shoot at for a long time! I love how the light comes through the wood slats on the barn. It really lights up the entire interior and provides a warm glow during the reception events.

 

They had both their ceremony and reception at The Barn at Heather Glen. Before we could ever get to the ceremony, Chelsea and Brain shared a First Look in the woods beside the barn. We always select a gorgeous location that has great lighting from most angles so we know we will get great light no matter which way our couples move during the First Look! I seriously love First Looks and I shared our Top 3 Tips for Having a First Look earlier this week! After we did their first look we met back up with the wedding party to hang out and take some more pictures then off to the ceremony!

 

The ceremony was outside in front of the barn, which was decorated with sunflowers and fall flowers. Chelsea welled up with tears when she walked down the aisle to meet Brian. This was a special moment for them, even though they had a first look and had already shared a few moments together. Walking down the aisle to meet each other to get married provided a new wave of emotions for them. They are so adorable, and I love them!

 

After they were married, we did their family photos, more wedding party photos and then took pictures of just the two of them. The lighting in the valley was so pretty that evening. The glow just bounced off the prairie grasses and made everything look like a honey-dipped autumn scene.

 

Once we were all finished with photos it was time to party! Everyone danced and enjoyed cake and yummy food the entire evening. One thing I loved and found unique was that Chelsea and Brian love craft beer and they had a beer stand on the patio that had beers they had personally selected for their wedding! I LOVE IT! We didn’t try any since we were working, but their guests enjoyed the selection and knowing that Chelsea and Brian had hand selected each beer made it that much more special! There was always a fun crowd outside on the patio enjoying the crisp October night and each other’s company!
