As that air is starting to get crisper outside… or at least this weekend it is getting crisper. Don’t mind the fact that it is going to be 90 degrees on Tuesday 1 week away from September. It reminds me of the gorgeous engagement session that I did with Kelly and Jacob around the Franklin Park Conservatory grounds. It is such a beautiful location any time of the year, but fall is extra special since we were right on the cusp of it and leaves were fulling changing, but there were still some plants blooming. I adored Kelly’s burgundy dress that she wore for the first part of the engagement session at Franklin Park Conservatory.
Last fall was my year of burgundy! A lot of our couples came with burgundy accents, and it was beautiful in the fall! I am excited about this coming fall and see which color dominates the fall engagement sessions. Will it be burgundy again or blues? Mustard yellow? I will be honest… I can entirely pull off burgundy, but put me in mustard yellow and it is a disaster. It might be the blonde hair? I want to be the girl that can rock mustard yellow, but it just never happens. I will happily stick to my blues, browns, and burgundy for this blonde hair come fall! Let’s get back to this session before I really fall into talking about colors and fall!
We started around the formal gardens at Franklin Park conservatory with the beautiful sculptures and manicured bushes. Kelly, Jacob and I wondered around for a good half hour and prayed it didn’t rain! We actually moved up the session that day because it was planning on raining in the evening – so instead of golden hour we ended up shooting in the morning and were just hoping the rain was going to stay away long enough! It did! Thank goodness!
Their second outfit was so perfectly fall, and if some of these locations look familiar it is because were around The Wells Barn! I adore the area around The Wells Barn and the Community Gardens. Dare I say I like it better than the beautiful gardens that surround the conservatory? There is so much life even in the fall time at wells barn. I am glad I was able to visit and shoot the location in both the summer and the fall.
Kelly and Jacob just got married on August 4th at Great Harvest Adventures! It was a beautiful wedding, and I can’t wait to show you their blog post!
