Lots has happened since I last posted!
First – I got my new blog up and running as you can see – I am very excited about it. I will slowly be adding everything into this blog and lots of new content. Keep checking back for all the new updates and make sure to correct your bookmarks and links.
I got back from North Carolina last week and have hit the ground running since. Lots to do towards the end of the week. I went running on Saturday and while doing my morning run I was bit by a dog in our neighborhood… that ended up eating most of Saturday between finding the dog and going to the med center to get some antibiotics for it. I have been a little gimpy since then since it is on my left calve – makes walking a slight challenge. It does feel a lot better today though so hopefully everything will be up to par for the weekend as I have 3 engagement shoots this weekend so its going to be a busy one.
Besides all of that fun stuff – I am ordering my new flooring for my kitchen floor this morning. I am pretty excited about that as well. I am having natural bamboo floors put in – they are gorgeous! I can’t wait! Plus, I found a nice unfinished vanity up at Menards in Marion and I plan on refinishing it… and its a fraction of the cost of one that is already finished – another added bonus! I was having the hardest time finding a vanity/sink that had the draw depth that I wanted/needed. I am just picking about those things! Luckily, I did find this one and I love the fact that it is unfinished. I plan on doing a beach theme in the bathroom so now I can take this unfinished wood and beat it up a little and add a nice distress beach look.
North Carolina was great – it did rain for all 4 days while we were there – so the weather wasn’t amazing but the Outer Banks is still a great spot. We went to Jockey Ridge State Park again, I love that place! They actually had a couple people that were going to hang glide. We didn’t stick around to watch because we had already been there for a long time – but it looked interesting! One day we went down to Cape Hatteras light house and the national seashore, along with Pea Island nation seashore. I wasn’t able to get the great photos I got last time due to the rain, so that was a little bit of a bummer. On the bright side though – lots of shells and drift wood!
We ended up eating out all three nights we were there – first night was at this little place up in Corolla which I can’t remember what it is called. The other two places we ate at were Millers Waterfront restaurant which I love! and Hurricane Mo’s – that place was great as well. I highly suggest eating at Millers Waterfront restaurant and Millers Waterfront restaurant. While we were at Hurricane Mo’s there were some local paintings that I loved. I was able to ask who painted them and they said Dawn Gray from Red Dawn Designs – You can check out her work here. She is having a special going on now of her prints for her trip to Nicaragua. She does lots of volunteer work in Nicaragua with the local kids/families. Check out her work and her blog – She is doing a ton for a great cause and she only needs a little more money for her trip down there.
We finished up our stay with a ferry to Ocracoke Island. That place is amazing! I will have to fill you guys in on some more info about the island later on.
Here are some pictures from the trip! Most are from Ocracoke with the first set being from Jockey Ridge
